Hello dear friends-
There have been a couple of very serious issues that have come up lately that need some prayer. We are certainly never short on those.
First, my sister-in-law Robin was just married on Jan. 5 to a great guy named Stan. Last week, after showing very few symptoms, Stan was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. It is affecting his stomach and lymph nodes. There is also an area of concern on his liver. Of course this was a HUGE shock to them. They are going to be treating this very aggressively w/ chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Please be praying for Stan- that God will do a miracle in his body. Pray for Robin- for strength, wisdom and encouragement. Pray for the kids (Robin and Dustin's-[my brother's] kids) Colton 11, Sierra 8, and Savannah 6. This is a precious family that loves and honors God.
Second, my dear friend Amy you've read about so often on this blog, is very sick. She is still in the hospital (since May 2006). She is in California. Amy has a very serious infection in her blood. Her medical team is concerned about the gravity of the situation. They have explained everything to Amy and her family. Of course they are scared. Amy needs prayer! Pray that God will heal Amy's blood and rid her of the infection. Amy is only 29 and has a 10 year old daughter. She has suffered so much already.
Thanks for your continued support. Aaron and I are doing well. I will write a more personal update soon! In the meantime, be praying for Stan and Amy.
Love, Kari

In case you're bored...
...you may take some time to look at and listen to various things Aaron and I have done. The first two links are concerning our "hero" and "saltshaker" status I mentioned a few blogs ago. Cut and paste these into your browser! Enjoy!
1. This is Aaron's "hero" article. I think he's the 7th hero down on the list:

2. This is my interview from Light and Life magazine:

3. These 4 videos are from Marina Christian Fellowship in LA. I preached there on Dec. 16 with my friend Trisha. I only linked my portion of the sermon here. There were 7 segments--I preached segments 3, 4, 5, 7. Those are listed below.
The point of my sermon was finding joy in the midst of suffering. The message is very personal as I talk about our accident and Bryan's death. It is about 25 minutes long for all 4 segments.
Thanks everyone!
