Update from Kari

Hello everyone!
This is the first time I’ve written anything on our website.  This will not be very long since I’m typing with my mouth stick- I can only push one key at a time.  I think that there are probably several people still checking our blog.   I apologize for not writing sooner.  Getting back to “normal” has been much more difficult than we had anticipated.  I realize that there have been hundreds of people following our story from the very beginning.  We are so grateful for the overwhelming response-financially and spiritually.  It still surprises me that so many people care.  There are a couple of things I wanted to share about the response we’ve received.  First- please don’t put us on a pedestal.  We humbly receive all of the beautiful things people have said about us- but we are no better than anyone else.  Also, I was beginning to feel like a reality TV show- (- with people waiting for the latest news of our lives.  But now that we are out of the hospital, we are just trying to get our lives back.  So please be patient with our long intervals of time between updates.
Aaron is doing very well.  He is super tired all the time.  He works about 9-10 hours a day at school.  At home he tries to keep up with the cooking, laundry, cleaning, the cats, shopping- oh yeah… and taking care of me.  He goes for 16-18 hours a day without hardly stopping.  He does all of this so cheerfully.  He never complains.  I am amazed by his love and devotion.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
I am doing very well also.  Every day I feel stronger and healthier.  I can’t remember the last time I had to take pain medication.  My pain is so much less than it used to be.  My equipment is all working well for me.  I am getting a new computer next week that will work better with the voice activated software.  I also am getting a new cell phone in the next few days that will be easier to use.  We’ve had several “technical difficulties” in the last couple of weeks- Aaron’s computer at school crashed- the internet at home stopped working- our laptop keeps freezing- and Aaron’s cell phone was stolen last Sunday at a restaurant.  It seems as though we are constantly battling something.
Things with Sarah are working out really well.  She is a tremendous help to us.  She is also very cheerful about everything- never complaining.
I’m going to close now.  My cheeks are getting tired from all this typing (about 2hours!) I will try to do another update soon.  We love you all.

Kari

So awesome to hear from you, Kari! And good thing you warned us about the reality TV thing being unwanted... I'm going to go call back NBC and say you're not interested after all. ;-)

Sweet, sweet Kari,

How amazing to hear directly from you!!! Since our trip out in November, so much has happened and I (we) miss you tons!!! How good that the pain has pretty much gone away!!! - PRAISE GOD!!! I agree with Cyndi - how in the world did you get away without any typos?!?! You rock! We can't wait to come out to Cali sometime - Carrie and I were talking the other day about how wonderful it was when we came last time. Praise the Lord it is really wonderful to hear your pain has decreased so much. That is a wonderful relief!! I'm so happy for you both! I know it is hard for Aaron to rest & relax but it takes a toll on a person when they don't stop to take care of themself because only he can take that time to relax. Any way he can!!
I love you & miss you I'm so glad you were able to sent your email it is great to hear from YOU!!!
Your always in my prayers. Just a note to you I'm still OFF insulin praise God!! Every day there is a new challange but we have to I guess expect that such as life!! Just being able to trust in the Lord is a wonderful gift that he has given us!!
We don't hold you on a pedistal we just are so grateful to hear your expierence & to hear how much you both have grown through out this whole expierence. No one knows what they would do in your situation. But girl you've got great strength & faith!!
Praise you both
Love you lots

Dear Kari & Aaron,
So very good to read your blog, Kari. That took a lot of determination I am sure but then we all know that you are a wonderfully determined lady. We all admire your strength of character.

God is so good. I sent you an article from Forbes Magazine that I hope may prove helpful. Know you both remain in our prayers.

Hello!!!
It's so good to hear from y'all! Happy St. Patti's Day! I know you're excited, being so Irish and alchoholic and all. I'm so glad you're off your meds and out of pain. Well, we have been recording some of the songs in the studio. It's a 6 song demo/EP. We'll send you it as soon as we're done mastering it. Right now, we only have the rough mixes so far, but they sound pretty good. As far as putting you guys on a pedestal, I wouldn't do it but you're just so cool. What can I say, I can't help it. I look forward to hearing from you again, although I'm sure it will take your cheeks a while to recover: 2 HOURS! Well, I love oyu guys and I am so glad that things are going well. Hopefully I'll be able to come out again sometime. Dan, KT, and everyone else at our house send love.
Love,
Bryan BoiGuzman
